AllSaints Autumn / Winter Edit
I have been part of the Elys Personal Styling Team for over 3 years now and I ADORE all the premium fashion brands we have across Womenswear and Menswear however, excitement levels went up a level amongst the Elys Personal Stylists when we heard that AllSaints were arriving in-store for autumn / winter ‘21.
You may already know AllSaints for their infamous cult leather jackets and incredible signature biker boots but there is so much more to this iconic East London fashion brand than that. You don’t need to be young or have a Kate Moss-style model physique to wear AllSaints. To prove just that, I have pulled together an edit of pieces from the AllSaints' autumn / winter ’21 collection to show how wearable their pieces are for every day and special occasions. You can find these pieces in Elys Wimbledon, First Floor in Womenswear and for the guys, AllSaints Menswear can be found on the Ground Floor.
If I have styled you in the Elys Styling Suite or you follow me on Instagram, you will know that I am partial to a little leopard and I love a floral print. AllSaints offers prints that I, for one, wasn’t expecting…think wild horses and midnight skies …now who doesn’t need these in their outfit combinations?! Their shoes and accessories are also to die for so you can create a top-to-toe AllSaints look or switch in with other pieces already in your wardrobe to update a staple outfit.
To give you an idea of sizing on all pieces, I’m 5’ 6", a size 10 on top and a 12 on my bottom. I took my usual size in all the pieces except for where I state that I sized down. So, let’s crack on and look at some of my favourite pieces
Look 1
I started with a pair of basic wardrobe staples, skinny jeans! The Miller Mid Rise Jeans in Vintage Black, Size Medium are super stretchy and comfortable. Available in 3 sizes, small, medium and large which equate to a size 24 - 32” waist.
As soon as I saw the Tammy Leppo Top, I just knew I had to include it in my edit! Now, this is a wardrobe essential in my book. Dress it up with the skinny jeans and heels for a classic ‘jeans and a nice top’ going ‘out-out’ look or throw on AllSaints’ beautiful Kady Recycled Cashmere Cardigan in a gorgeous rich butterscotch colour, which will go with everything. Add a pair of the white Sheer Leather Trainers and you’re good to go!
Look 2
Sticking with the jeans and to keep things casual, I chose to add one of AllSaints’ classic statement tees into my edit. This printed Santo Imagen Boy T-Shirt is very cool and whilst I’m usually one to encourage my Personal Styling clients to tuck their tops in, this one can be worn out, half tucked or tucked in…I just love the how the versatile styling options can suit any shape.
Jacket wise, I fell for the Suri Bomber Jacket as it’s a great transitional piece made from Econyl, a fabric generated from recycled waste products with a relaxed fit to throw on over any outfit. Accessory wise, it works brilliantly with the Sheringham Shoulder Bag in liquid khaki - a premium leather that looks like patent and another fabulous texture to mix in against the faux sheepskin body of the jacket. It’s not just our prints we want to clash, think textures too!
Look 3
This winter may still look quite different with many of us still spending time at home, so comfort without compromising on style is incredibly important and is one of the reasons I chose this Ridley Wool - Cashmere Blend Jumper and Joggers coordinate.
‘Co-ords’ (as the kids say) like these are super-easy to wear at home and still look put-together when popping out to the shops or on the school run. They can easily be used as separates or mixed and matched with so many of the other gorgeous AllSaints pieces, and most are from a neutral colour palette that all work beautifully together tonally.
It is the same when thinking about the items you already have in your wardrobe at home. As most AllSaints pieces come from a neutral colour palette, you can easily add a pop of your favourite colour to these looks. I’ve done this here by adding a pop of red with my phone cover and later, a swipe of red lippy. Remember, it doesn’t need to be clothing and accessories – integrate makeup too!
I always ask my Personal Styling clients if they own a denim jacket and the Piper Denim Jacket is just that little bit edgier in an oversized snow-washed grey. It also works well worn over chunkier knits so consider it another great transitional piece that you can pull out every year – it’s always good to invest in one of these.
Look 4
Next up, the head-turning Cora Leggings. The verdict: I absolutely love them. They pulled me in, in all the right places and can be styled in myriad ways. I’m not super confident about my legs but these look and feel seriously slinky so I encourage you to give these a try, I think you will be pleasantly surprised. I felt like I was channelling Sandy from Grease when I teamed them with the biker!
I have to mention AllSaints’ Franka Boots here. They are incredibly cool but also extremely comfortable. A military style hiking boot, great for people like me that do a lot of running around town, can be worn with trews or dresses and work so well with a classic biker jacket.
Look 5
Did you know that AllSaints do the most fabulous body suits? Case in point, the Jamie Body Suit comes in black, cream and this incredible leopard print! I don’t often say that you should duplicate a piece in your wardrobe, but I strongly feel it would be a crime not to have both this and the camisole in Look 1 in your arsenal…although remember, I am a leopard print obsessive!
Styled with either the Saris Leather Ankle Boots or Sheer Leather Trainers & Kady Recycled Cashmere Cardigan for an effortlessly put together day-to-night look.
I’ve mixed into this look Levi’s 501 straight-leg jeans in light wash. They are my personal faves and a go-to for styling my clients – find them in Womenswear on the First Floor.
So, that's a wrap! I hope my AllSaints edit has given you the confidence you might have needed to get out of your comfort zone and explore brands you may not consider when shopping for new pieces for fear of the styles not being ‘you’. Take a few pieces to a fitting room and give them a try – you have nothing to lose!
